 Update:

Trot has been transfered to Hog Heavan in Pa, you can see him and his success by visiting their site at www.hogheavenrescue.org

RIP: Trot was a residend of the H.H.R.F  from 5/11/06 until 2/15/07, Trot was a 15 year old standardbred pacer. Previous injuries that caused him pain were not relieved with chiropratic massage, or pain medication.  Our vet sent him to rainbrow bridge so he did not have to suffer.

Trot a Gold:  A 14 year old dark bay standard bred Gelding from Leroy (a retired Trotter)

A word from a friend that this horse was going to be shot, with 1 weeks preperation hes now safe.  I've never met such an animal with a heart of gold like his, it really puts the meaning in the phrase "you can learn alot from an animal"

A surgeon looked at the x-rays of his stifle that were taken.  Not good news, turns out trot has osteo arthritis from the bone chips.  I  was told its so severe that surgery will not help him. The surgeon can still go in and see exactly how bad it is.  But he suggests putting him down.  Trot does not appear to be in pain at this time and he still uses his leg, (alot more than the first day he came here).  I'm not giving up on him yet, hes going to have his bone chips removed and the access cartilage removed.   In the mean time before his surgery, trot has to gain about 50-60 lbs, and his hooves are going to receive some extra attention, along with the  wounds that I slowly found each day.

I will keep his progress updated,  above is a photo of Trot.

INCOMMING ANIMALS:

Bobbie: 2 Year old Female Rottweiler From Ohio

1/8/2007

Bobbie has been renamed Shadow.  Currently in a foster home where she is being spoiled.

She came in very thin and really bad skin/fur.  She has now to date gained 10 pounds, and her coat is great with the right supplements and medicated baths.  She also came in with kennel itch, Dr. Mekenna gave her a pretizone shot and she is doing much better.

Pictures of shadow comming soon!

Keeta: 8 yr old rottweiler/shepard mix-  Keeta is currently on medication for arthritis and is doing much better, shes a great gard dog and companion plus gets along with everyone.

ADOPTED: Brandy: 2 year old rottweiler-  Brandy came in with no problems, and is doing great.  Keeta and brandy came in together and they both fit right in with the clan.

All animals will be in quarentine, and then they will be going for their first annual vet examination, after this process they will be put up for adoption.

We received a pet rat that lost an eye due to a puncture wound.  He has received the surgery he needed to rid the eye socket of old tissue that could of led to brain cancer and infection,  his eye has been sewed shut and is now healing nicely.

Update on the 3 Emaciated Cats Guinea pigs and the other small animals!!

2 of the cats are doing great and are in great health, unfortunately we lost one.

2 of the rescued guinea passed away do to snuffles, the one male named Twister who had heat stroke is healthy than ever, his neurogical problems have def. improved and now he only has a slight head tilt and hangs his head vertical when you hold him.

All 16 degus went to the humane society in rochester to be adopted out and so pregnant females could have a quite place to have there young.

2 bunnies were lost due to snuffles, the other has been happily adopted out.  The other 65 + rabbits that were confiscated by the humane society were seen by a vet, treated for snuffles and put up for adoption, some of which had to be euthanized due to there health conditions and due to the amount of rabbits that there were.
